The Levitation® knee brace by Spring Loaded Technology is a unique type of knee brace that includes a spring-loaded extension-assist mechanism. It is designed to support the knee during activities that involve bending and straightening, such as sitting, standing, climbing stairs, or walking. Unlike traditional braces, it assists with knee extension (straightening) and reduces pressure on the knee joint.

Absorbs energy during bending: When you bend your knee, the brace's spring system stores energy.

Releases energy to support straightening: As you straighten the knee, the stored energy is released, helping reduce the load on your thigh muscles (quadriceps) and knee joint.

Offloads joint pressures: The brace is designed to reduce pressure across all areas of the knee particularly the front (patellofemoral), inside (medial) and outside (lateral) compartments.

The Levitation brace may be recommended for people with:

Knee osteoarthritis: including patellofemoral and multi-compartmental OA

Anterior knee pain: (pain at the front of the knee)

Quadriceps weakness: such as after injury or surgery or tendinopathy

Knee instability or maltracking.

Rehabilitation after knee surgery: the brace could especially when strength and mobility are limited but should be in consultation and agreement with your surgeon

Reduces pain during movement by offloading pressure from the knee joint

Supports mobility in daily activities like walking, sitting, standing, and using stairs

Adjustable support allows users to modify the level of assistance as needed

May reduce the need for pain medication or delay the need for surgery in some cases

Traditional knee braces are passive—they provide compression, distraction or stability. The Levitation brace is active, meaning it stores and releases energy to help with knee extension. This can make certain movements easier for people with reduced strength or joint pain.

The brace is custom made based on your thigh and shin measurements. It is designed to fit under most loose-fitting trousers. Straps are also highly adjustable for comfort and function with most people adapting to the feel of the spring mechanism quickly. The level of assistance can also be easily adjusted depending on need over time and for a specific exercise or activity
