Not all shoulder pain is felt in what you might consider the 'shoulder'. Whilst there is variation, the photos on this page illustrate a typical way in which a patient might indicate the site of their pain for each condition. In some conditions pain is very focal, in others it is more widespread, or felt more in the arm or neck rather than the shoulder.
